High School Musical 3: Senior Year
Every young actor was clamoring to become a part of the "High School Musical" franchise, and Justin was chosen to be part of this elite group. He will have his chance to display his musical and dance prowess in the third installment of the series, which opens theatrically on October 24th 2008.
The Express
Justin portrays a young legend in the Universal Studios drama "The Express." The film tells the true story of the first African-American Heisman Trophy winner, Ernie Davis, who died tragically young of leukemia before he had the chance to play professional football. The film also stars Rob Brown, Dennis Quaid and Charles Dutton, and will be released in October 2008.
The Soloist
Justin co-stars in Sony/Dreamworks' "The Soloist," for director Joe Wright ("Atonement") opposite Jamie Foxx and Robert Downey, Jr. Based on the best-selling novel "Imagining Beethoven," Justin portrays Foxx's character as a boy. Release date is November 2008.
Black Water Transit
Justin co-stars in this crime drama that transpires in post-Katrina New Orleans. The film also stars Lawrence Fishburne, Karl Urban, Stephen Dorff and Brittany Snow, and was directed by Tony Kaye ("American History X").
Television
A Raisin in the Sun
Justin's performance in "The Lion King" drew the attention of the producers of the ABC TV adaptation of "A Raisin in the Sun," who cast him in the role of 'Travis' opposite Tony award-winner Phylicia Rashad, Audra McDonald and Sean Combs.
Cold Case
(Episode: It Takes a Village) This 2007 episode was one of Justins most intense roles. His character is kidnapped, locked in a cellar, and forced to stand on a box for two days. “The longer I was there, the more surreal it became,” Justin says. “And it started to feel like I had really been kidnapped. It took me - and my mom - a few days to come back from that one.”
Drake and Josh
(Episode: Megan’s New Teacher) Justin played a student in this 2006 episode about Josh (Josh Peck) becoming a student teacher in Megan’s class.
Judging Amy
(Episode: Getting Out) In this 2005 episode, Justin played a young repeat offender who causes Amy (Amy Brenneman) to lose her objectivity.
The Bernie Mac Show
(Episode: Stiff Upper Lip) Justin appeared in this 2004 episode of “The Bernie Mac Show” after his first trip to Los Angeles for pilot season. In this episode, Jordan (Jeremy Suarez) steals a cast from the hospital to get out of gym class.
Malcolm in the Middle
(Episode: Experiment) One of Justin’s first television credits was a 2004 episode of this sitcom starring Frankie Muniz and Jane Kaczmarek.
